Getting Thru the Divorce Process
It sucks. That is seriously all that can be said.
It is slow. It is hard. It is brutal.
Your mind wonders. Your heart hurts. Your stomach turns.
They say that time heals wounds.
Well what happens when the scab gets ripped off every Monday?
Time during a divorce is standing still with nothing happening.
Your anxiety goes up. Your worry is constant. Your anger grows daily. Your frustration is next level. Your good decision making starts to go.
Then you tack on a global pandemic and have court houses closed or attorney who have been exposed and cancel court dates…things escalate and your mental sharpness lessens.
My recommendation is only to focus on things that are not about your divorce. So if you have been thinking/worrying about your divorce for 5 hours today, tomorrow try to only let it consume 4 hours. Slowly decrease the focus on it and increase the focus on a new you.
Find a new hobby, new friends, new traditions, new habits…new distractions. Sitting and worrying about when it will end, when something will happen, hell some of you are wondering when it will start.
Keep your mind and body busy!
